Jams for the post-apocalypse.

The Story

It’s the year 2134. We always knew the world was going to hell by the hand of mankind, but never knew when.

Well on October 15th, 2120, we finally did it. The latest World war had come to a head, and mutually-assured destruction had come to pass. As Russia, China, the US, and most of Europe all figuratively reached for their big red buttons, hundreds of megatonnes of explosions around the world combined into a seemingly single explosion of unparalleled proportions, which blocked out the sun for decades to come leaving only a barren, dead desert landscape. What was left of mankind retreated to desert caves and the basements of hulking, hollowed out shells of former city buildings, to protect themselves from the cold and abrasive sand.

In this new city-desert, two guys dug through rubble of a place called the “Vintage Synthesizer Museum (VSM)” and found what appeared to be several whole pieces of music equipment. They were broken and half-destroyed, but bits of the electronics still were intact. They hauled what they could back to their makeshift lab and got to work cobbling all of the parts together into a desert megasynth from hell.

They became THE OMEGAMEN.

Finally their days had substance. Thus began a 5-year project to compose an album from the soundtrack of “life after life”. Everyday they would convene at the site of the megasynth, startup the fusion generator, and get to work on songs and sounds inspired by their stories of love, loss, and the end of times as they knew it.

When the album was done, there was no one to release it to. So they played it as loud as they could in the desert city.
